Tableaux Faux Iron™
Tableaux coined the term “Faux Iron” back in 2002 when we made our first product. Originally conceptualized and manufactured for use in transom windows, Tableaux Faux Iron quickly became a favorite among homeowners looking to add old-world wrought-iron décor to their window treatments.
This custom-made iron-like interior design product offered homeowners an alternative to using real wrought iron without the weight, cost, or installation complexities.
Today, Tableaux Faux Iron has evolved into the perfect design option for replicating classic or traditional wrought iron design patterns and old-world styles in a variety of residential interior design and exterior design applications. You'll see Tableaux Faux Iron Decorative Grilles used in home improvement & restoration projects including window treatments, statement ceiling decor, kitchen & bath remodeling, custom wall art of any shape & size, room dividers and partitions, and even exterior architectural accents.
Geographies and locales influence interior design styles. As the list of Tableaux resellers grew throughout the U.S., many expressed their desire to add or match other interior design styles besides just classic and traditional.
Tableaux responded by testing material substrates and experimenting with finishes that closely matched wooden accents and restored wood furniture.
In 2016, Tableaux Veneer was introduced. Made from industrial-grade MDF recycled wood panels layered with real hardwood walnut veneer, Tableaux Veneer and its hand-sanded woodgrain surface is well-suited for use with natural, organic, rustic, and popular farmhouse interior design styles.
Tell us what shape & size you'd like your Tableaux Veneer Decorative Grille to be, choose one of our design patterns or have our designers create one from your own design ideas, then select one of our beautiful hand-applied finish colors to create a truly one-of-a-kind interior design accent!
With focus and attention on design trends throughout the country, it was evident we needed to further expand our wood products to include something with metallic characteristics better suited to contemporary, industrial/urban, and modern design patterns & styles.
Our material search led us to an Industrial-Grade Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) substrate manufactured with a synthetic resin system and certified as Class 1 Flame Retardant. In January 2017 we started using this substrate to manufacture Tableaux Elements.
Tableaux Elements provides a smoother surface finish with interior cuts that aren’t as rough as our other wood products. This allows for specialized finish colors to be applied in a manner that results in a metal-like appearance, making Tableaux Elements a great alternative to using expensive aluminum or steel materials when more contemporary styles are desired.
The addition of Tableaux Elements allows for almost endless design capabilities and offers Interior Designers, Home Decorators, Home Remodelers, and of course, Homeowners, the ability to express their creative ideas to complete any interior design project.
